University of South Carolina (USC) forward Ashlyn Watkins is facing crazy allegations just two months before the is set to start her junior season with the women’s basketball team.

According to CNN, the 20-year-old was arrested on Aug. 31 on charges including kidnapping and assault and battery. Police reportedly confronted Watkins and the victim — who has not been identified yet because of her minor age — on the third floor of an on-campus apartment sophisticated.
Watkins told police the victim was trying to jump from a ledge and she was subsequently holding her back. The victim, however, told police she was trying to get away from the USC star after they got into a heated argument, according to WIS10.
The police report stated Watkins called the victim her girlfriend, and when Watkins alleged the victim was cheating on her, an altercation broke out. The forward also admitted to grabbing the victim.
Eventually, the couple ended up in a parking garage where Watkins said the victim climbed onto the ledge. Watkins said she wrapped her arms around her in efforts to protect the victim. The report said the victim initially told officers Watkins hit her, but later retracted the statement.
The victim also insisted she was not trying to jump off the parking garage ledge, according to the report. WIS 10 reported that “EMS determined the victim was not suicidal and cleared her without transport.”
Online judicial records for Richland County show that Watkins was granted a $30,000 personal recognizance bond. She was ordered to have no direct or indirect contact with the victim, who was not named in the records. They also didn’t list an attorney for Watkins.
Watkins was ordered to stay 1,000 feet from the victim’s home, work, school and place of worship. She will be permitted to travel out of state for basketball games and practices.
She is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 25.
