Take A Sneak Peek At Taylor Sheridan’s Up-to-date Show Set In West Texas

Date:

Taylor Sheridan is a busy, busy man. The ambitious television creator and writer not only brought the world Yellowstone and its spin-offs, 1883 and 1923 (and perhaps a few more), but he’s also been challenging at work on something else entirely: Landman. Now fans are getting their first glimpse  of the forthcoming show and it looks like yet another gripping watch. Plus, we now know when we will get to see this brand modern show!

The series will premiere exclusively on Paramount+ on Sunday November 17 with two episodes. Then, each week following, viewers will get one episode a week for the remainder of the 10-episode series.

Landman stars Billy Bob Thornton, Jon Hamm, Demi Moore, and Ali Larter. The show is based on Texas Monthly’s 2019 podcast “Boomtown,” which tells the story of the Texas oil boom.

The kind folks at Paramount + have kindly released some first look photographs for all to have just a little peek inside this modern world.

Per the network’s official description in a press release, Landman is set in “the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas,” and “is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.”

While even the miniature glimpse of Landman that has been shared makes the series look incredibly fun to watch, it was perhaps less fun to film. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Thornton revealed that shooting the series last summer, reportedly shot in and around Fort Worth, Texas. was a real feat. “There were days when I thought, not only me, but everybody on the crew was going to pass out. It was so hot some days,” he said about filming in the Texas heat. “My God, there were days when it was pretty hard. This was probably the hardest thing I ever did.”

Fans of When Calls The Heart might recognize another member of the cast. Kayla Wallace has swapped Hope Valley for West Texas, at least for a little while, as she is set to be a series regular on Landman.

We are very excited about this one, y’all. Is it November yet?
