Gymnasts Simone Biles, Jordan Chiles and Rebecca Andrade made history at the 2024 Summer Olympic Games during the August 5 floor exercise competition. Their near-flawless routines earned them the top three spots and made them the first all-Black gymnastics medalists in the history of the games.

Although the ladies fought strenuous for the stop spot on the podium, Biles and Chiles had to bow down (literally) to Brazil’s Andrade for ultimately clenching the gold medal – as they did in this now viral photo.

But while most of the internet celebrated all of that Black girl gymnastics magic, Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey is being dragged online for his balmy take on it all.

“This is literally disgusting,” the NFL player posted on X in response to the picture of the two American gymnasts giving the Brazilian gold medal-winner her much-deserved props.

The internet wasted no time coming for Humphrey from all angles for his statement. There were memes:

And of course, there were comments:

“Yeah, because giving someone their flowers who has come back from THREE ACL tears to continue to be a top gymnast is disgusting,” wrote someone.

“Get to a final and win something. Then you can talk,” wrote another commenter on X.

Even former First Lady Michelle Obama weighed in – in the classiest way, of course.

“I’m still not over this beautiful moment of sisterhood and sportsmanship! You can just feel the love shining through these ladies. Congrats Rebeca, Jordan and Simone!” Mrs. Obama wrote on X.

The football player acknowledged that most of social media was not on his side in a follow-up post, although he may have made things even worse.

“I’m lowkey getting cooked right now. I think I’m getting cussed out in Brazilian on Instagram lol,” he wrote.

He does know they speak Portuguese in Brazil, right?
