Jennifer Garner Pens Heartfelt Thank You To Teachers After Youngest Graduates From Middle School

Date:

It has been an emotional few weeks for Jenifer Garner. After the high school graduation of her eldest brought her to tears, the actress wrapped yet another chapter as her youngest said goodbye to the middle school all three of her kids attended.

Garner, whose 12-year-old son Samuel graduated from eighth grade last week, shared a heartfelt thank you letter to elementary school teachers on social media.

“A little gratitude for our wonderful family elementary school at the end of 13 years together applies to all educators: thank you for doing what you do,” she captioned a June 13 Instagram post. “And congratulations to all the mamas out there with kids moving from one phase to the next.”

“Dearest Teachers,” the letter begins. “Thank you for caring about my children with me, for tying their shoes and holding their hands. Thank you for discipling my children when they’ve needed it and for offering more hugs than some children receive in a lifetime. Thank you for all the hard work that goes into having high expectations, for buckling down and teaching them the discomfort and joy of tolerating frustration toward a greater good.”

“Thank you for being a secure haven for my family, the world is a lot for anyone and so many children struggle with real loss and hardship that it feels selfish to want more for kids who have so much. But I wanted my three to have a secure space where they could focus on the business of being little and where education and character are prioritized … Thank you for a stunning 13 years, I cannot imagine our family landing anywhere better.”

Garner, 52, shares three children with ex-husband Ben Affleck: Violet, 18; Seraphina, 15; and Samuel, 12.

They grow up so brisk!
