Huge Fan Of Zaxby’s Signature Sauces? We Have Good News

Date:

Fast-casual chicken chain Zaxby’s has bottled up three signature sauces that began hitting supermarket shelves in the South this July.

Zax Sauce, Spicy Zax Sauce, and Tongue Torch are now available for dipping your chicken wings at home. You can buy them for around $5 a bottle at Walmart, Kroger, Winn Dixie, and on Amazon.com. This is the first time Zaxby’s has sold its sauces through retailers, though the chain joins a long line of restaurants like Subway and Chik-fil-A that are doing the same.

Zax Sauce is both creamy and tangy, making it a good choice for your chicken sandwiches at lunch. Though the recipe is top secret, you can find numerous copycat recipes using mayo, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings. Spicy Zax Sauce adds heat to the basic sauce.

Tongue Torch Sauce is a fan-favorite for dipping Zaxby’s Chicken Fingerz and uses aged peppers, vinegar, garlic, and mustard seed in its recipe. Despite the intimidating name, the sauce is rated as medium-hot.

Apparently Southerners have lucked out in this modern development, because Zaxby’s says its sauces are only available in the sauce aisle at stores in the South and Southeast. The chicken chain was founded in Statesboro, Georgia, in 1990 and now has more than 900 locations. They also make 12 different dipping sauces, so there may be more to come at the supermarket.
